We are delighted that „Husavik“ is among the contenders for the best original music. The song and the movie were released 26th of June last year and became a global hit. The Swedish singer Molly Sanden voices the song along with Will Ferrell.

You may know the storyline, the Icelandic-duo Fire Saga made it to the Eurovision Song contest grand finale but instead of performing their official entry „Double Trouble“ Sigrit and Lars made a late switch to the above-mentioned song „Husavik – My Home Town“. Despite getting disqualified from the Eurovision Song Contest for changing song Fire Saga won the hearts of viewers and became local heroes in North Iceland.

We are thankful for all the messages, it is wonderful to see how many love the song. Artists from all around the world have made their version of „Husavik“. Most recently, a quartet from South Korea performed the song as can be seen here below.



We wait with anticipation until the 15th of March when the Academy will reveal which five songs will be nominated for the 93rd Academy Awards.
