Norðurþing recently started working on the campsite in Húsavík to make some improvements. Depending on the weather, the constructions should be finished in a couple of weeks and the final result will be a new and improved campground.
In particular, the lower field is being partly graveled to offer a more comfortable stay for campers and motorhomes and to reduce damage on grass. Part of the soil of the lower field will be then used to flatten the upper field to make it more suitable for tents.
During the works, electricity for campers and motorhomes will not be available, while all the other facilities (kitchem, showers, toilets) are fully usable.
