Whale watching season 2016 has begun!

The whale watching season of 2016 got to a great start this morning when North Sailing‘s “Náttfari”, sailed out of the harbour with about 35 passengers. The weather was ideal for a good day in the Skjálfandi bay as you should see on the following pictures. The passengers were from several countries including Germany, USA an Malaysia.
Starting today, daily whale watching tours will be available in Húsavík until 1st of December. Húsavík’s job as The Whale Capital of Iceland is clearly expanding, with the new blue whale exhibition in the Whale Museum ready, longer whale watching season and a strong reasearch center from the University of Iceland which works their researches in a close relationship with the whale watching companies.

The weather was beautiful in Húsavík today!
The passengers were very excited for the trip and posed for the camera before leaving the harbour.
Time to wave goodbye before departure.
